A gaze to flaunt my feat
A welcome note for "That Shining Star"
He came chest high, huffing, puffing
Bringing the better, that's what they always are
I have long prided myself as the best
Kings and lords bow down before me
Coming low, kneeling, bowing
Extending gifts as they ready for Jubilee
I would be a slave if I chose to love
There was a time where I was meek
Striving hard, improving, evolving
Like that one lady which kings so seek
And I admit, I am not complete
Time will come when I will be no acolyte
The calendars do their job, turning, falling
As I ready myself, a star for the spotlight
But for now, a gaze to flaunt my feat
A goodbye note to the "Debonair"
He went away, thinking, considering
Wrought with guilt, that's how they always fair

I dragged you from the heaps of debris
left in the wake of your bitter discontent
shards
crippled from the shot you took
at fame and misfortune
where wealth flutters under
the wings of inherited
addiction and conviction.
You burned to the ground while I stood tall
on the legs of a greater beast
casting a shadow you could never eclipse
a shallow abyss, your frail frame
and a future drawn from shame
I dragged you into
a mess of discontent and expense
buying you the world
before it went to the dogs.
I thought you could see it coming.
can I kick it?
